Job summary

SHL Medical is seeking a Manufacturing Lead to oversee all manufacturing activities including production, quality, shipping, and receiving at our Deerfield Beach facility. You will lead 4-8 operators on 3rd shift, drive SAP training, and ensure safe, efficient operation per GMP practices.

The role requires coordinating manpower, equipment, and materials, mentoring staff, and implementing process improvements to optimize productivity while maintaining top quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in a highly regulated industry such as Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, etc.
• Must have experience managing a team and coordinating 4-8 operators.
• Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA guidelines for safe practices.
• Knowledge of SAP systems and SAP transactions.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs and work in refrigerated areas.
• Able to work from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM.

Responsibilities

• Lead 4-8 operators for Final Assembly, Labeling, Packaging on 3rd Shift.
• Be an SAP trainer and train others on SAP processes.
• Set up, changeover, and operate production equipment per procedures.
• Troubleshoot, escalate issues, and maintain the Production schedule.
• Read HMI screens and coordinate with ME for PMs, cms, calibrations.
• Collaborate with warehouse on SAP transactions and materials.

Job Overview

The Manufacturing Lead will be responsible for leading all manufacturing activities with responsibilities for production, quality, shipping, receiving, and other production-related activities. Additionally, this individual will assist leading the manpower, equipment and material resources for all manufacturing operations at the facility.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead 4-8 operators for Final Assembly, Labeling, Packaging on 3rd Shift
• Be an SAP trainer (ability to train others on the SAP process)
• Set up, perform changeover, and operate the production equipment and supplies in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines.
• Troubleshoot any problems. Escalate to supervisors/ME if assistance is needed.
• Maintain the Production schedule.
• Follow and document in MBRs to execute production processes.
• Operate equipment safely and effectively, following company policies for equipment operation.
• Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working condition.
• Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
• Assists other operators in their assigned responsibilities.
• Provide daily coaching, training, and mentorship to other manufacturing operators.
• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements
• Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety
• Identify and report unsafe operations to the supervisor immediately
• Maintain the work area clean, safe, and organized
• Read HMI screens on the equipment to operate it.
• Work with ME for equipment changeovers, PMs, cms, and calibrations.
• Work with the warehouse on receiving, returning, and SAP Transactions on the material.
• Assist with forms, labels, NOE, NCR, ’s filling out the batch record, and line reviews.
• Conduct end-of-shift batch records reviews on the manufacturing floor.
• Foster a collaborative working environment.
• Must be flexible to work a variety of schedules to meet business needs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Skills And Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Experience working in highly regulated industry such as Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, etc.
• Experience managing a team
• Able to quickly adapt to new direction or new responsibilities as needed.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA guidelines for safe practices.
• Knowledge of SAP
• Able to lift 45lb boxes and work in refrigerators for short periods of time.
• Ability to schedule trucks for unloading in a timely manner to prevent truck traffic.
• Ability to manage drivers for incoming loads and dock organization
• Ability to service internal and external customers.
• Ability to adhere to procedure and create repeatable, teachable processes
• Ability to work (9:00PM-5:30AM)
