Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Manufacturing Intern in Pennsylvania to support projects in manufacturing and packaging. You will analyze data, learn processes, and work on improvement initiatives with plant teams and external partners.

Ideal candidates are pursuing engineering or data science degrees, have strong English communication, and can manage multiple tasks with basic project skills in a GMP environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Must have completed at least 1 year of a Bachelor's degree.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience with data analysis and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently on multiple projects under tight timelines.
• Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office/ Excel Pivot Tables.
• Basic understanding of Process Control Systems and production floor automation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in projects including changeover reduction, 5S, Pareto analysis, time study, value stream mapping, standardized work, and workflow optimization.
• Basic use of project management skills.
• Troubleshoot maintenance and reliability issues.
• Learn manufacturing and packaging processes and equipment (dispersing, granulation, tablet compression, coating, printing).
• Review equipment specifications.
• Collect and analyze data to support decisions.
• Collaborate with non-union plant personnel and external vendors to implement solutions.

Manufacturing Intern

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

• Must be involved in projects including, but not limited to, changeover reduction, 5S, Pareto Analysis, time study, value stream mapping, standardized work, and optimization of workflows, kaizen events, Statistical Process Control, and Process Control Systems;


• Basic use of project management skills;


• Must be willing to troubleshoot maintenance and reliability issues;


• Learn the basics of pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packaging processing and equipment including dispensing, mixing, wet granulation, tablet compression, coating, and tablet printing;


• Be able to review equipment specifications;


• Be able to collect and analyze data to make decisions;


• Work with non-union plant personnel and possibly external vendors to implement solutions.

Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications

• Currently either pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering, Data Science, or other related technical discipline;


• Must have completed at least 1 year of a Bachelors degree program;


• Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English;


• Experience with data analysis and root cause analysis;


• Ability to work accurately and efficiently on multiple projects under tight timelines;


• Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office/ Excel Pivot Tables;


• Basic understanding of Process Control Systems and production floor automation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior engineering internship or co-op experience ina pharmaceutical company in engineering or data science related job.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $24.00 to $43.25. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
