Job summary

American Woodmark is seeking an HR Coordinator to assist in coordinating Human Resources, Safety/Compliance, and Training functions to optimize resources and achieve plant goals. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 yearsHR management experience, MS Office skills, and team-oriented problem-solving abilities.

Additionally, bilingual Spanish is a plus; undergraduate HR degree or related field is required with PHR/SPHR pending as a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years HR management experience; manufacturing preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Office in a network environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Track record of successful project management.
Experience working in a team environment.
Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
Management style aligned with CITE principles.
Undergraduate degree in HR or related field; PHR/SPHR certification or advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

Act as primary HR point of contact for hourly employees.
Assist HR Manager with coordinating recruiting activities; salary and hourly.
Counsel employees on policy, benefits, salary administration, training, performance issues.
Monitor local/state compliance activities and maintain employee files.
Represent the company in unemployment hearings when needed.
Investigate employee complaints including harassment and discrimination.
Support department transfers and job postings.
Participate in SQDC-targeted activities and cross-functional teams.
Ensure adherence to SOPs and company policies.
Assist in HR staff development and hiring needs planning.
Provide clear communications of department expectations and lead teams.
Support union-free work environment and a safe, productive workplace.
