True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing HR Coordinator in Saint Joseph, MI to provide daily HR support in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating onboarding, recruiting hourly workers, handling HRIS data entry, payroll support, and leave administration. The role offers a true work-life balance with no weekends and opportunities to grow across HR functions while reporting to the HR Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; further education preferred.
• At least two years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Well-rounded HR generalist background.
• Experience recruiting general labor positions.
• Experience supporting HR functions in manufacturing environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Daily staff and leadership support as primary contact for hourly personnel and production leaders.
• Recruiting and onboarding in collaboration with HR Manager and staffing agencies.
• HRIS, payroll and data entry, timekeeping support, and accurate record keeping.
• Assist with compliance audits, labor-law adherence, and training tracking; manage leaves and workers’ compensation.
• Lead culture, engagement, wellness programs, and plan team events; oversee payroll-related admin tasks.

Profitable, stable manufacturer is hiring their next HR Coordinator to report to the HR Manager at a fast-paced plant. Daily you will work in a generalist role with diverse HR duties. Responsibilities will include:

• Daily Staff & Leadership Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for hourly personnel and production leaders on attendance, policies, performance, and general inquiries.
• Recruiting & Onboarding: Partner with the HR Manager and third-party staffing agencies to recruit for hourly manufacturing positions, complete new-hire paperwork, and facilitate onboarding/orientation.
• HRIS, Payroll & Data Entry: Handle extensive data entry into payroll and HRIS systems, support timekeeping/payroll processes, complete physical and electronic filing, and maintain accurate employee records.
• Compliance & Leave Administration: Assist with compliance audits, ensure adherence to labor laws and company policies, track required employee training, and help administer FMLA, leaves of absence, and Workers’ Compensation.
• Culture, Engagement & Operations: Lead employee recognition, wellness programs, and team event planning, while overseeing operational tasks like managing the uniform program and third-party vendor.

The qualified candidate will be able to build rapport on the manufacturing floor, be comfortable and confident delivering onboarding presentations and orientation, have good energy and able to handle multiple tasks. Individuals should be well-rounded in human resources and enjoy employee relations. There is no travel and no weekend work with this position. There is not remote work available.

REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing HR Coordinator:

• 1. Minimum of a high school diploma; post education is highly preferred
• 2. At least two years of experience in a similar human resources role
• 3. Experience supporting HR functions in manufacturing environments
• 4. Well-rounded HR generalist background
• 5. Experience recruiting general labor positions
• 6. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:

• 1. ADP experience
• 2. SHRM Certification
• 3. Non-union workforces
• 4. Experience with conflict management
• 5. Working knowledge of BWC and FMLA
• 6. Experience with payroll processes
• 7. Working knowledge of HRIS systems
