Job summary

R-TECH SAS in the United States is seeking a versatile shop technician to perform grinding, cleaning, and general shop tasks under supervision. The role involves operating materials handling equipment, using the MRP Network, and adhering to safety policies.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, remove burrs from machined parts, apply coolant and lubricants, and help maintain clean work areas. Periodic cross-area coverage may occur based on production needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks safely and responsibly, complying with company policies.
• Determine uses of personal protective equipment (PPE); identify safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practices and surrounding environment.
• Complete work using the MRP Network.
• Load and unload materials, parts, or products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, or trucks manually or using a forklift.
• Use the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up and completion.
• Lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Remove burrs or excess metal from machined parts using files, sandpaper, emery cloth, or grinding tools.
• Add coolant to reservoirs of machines and lubricate machine parts and ways using grease gun and oil can.
• Reclaim cutting and lubricating oils from machines by pumping oil from machine reservoir into barrel, dumping oil from barrel into separator that removes metal chips and dirt from oil, and draining clean oil from separator into containers.
• Remove metal chips and shavings from surfaces of machines using rag or air hose and wipe surfaces with rag to remove excess oil and coolant residue.
• Clean around work areas using broom and shovel; separate metal shavings, chips, and scrap materials from trash and place them in bins for resale.
• Change filters on all equipment and HVAC units.
• Have general knowledge of R‑Tech's staging locations for parts in process as well as finished parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Note: May periodically be asked to work in other areas of the shop depending on production demand/flow.
