Job summary

Magna International in Ohio is seeking a skilled accounting professional to join our Magna Seating group. This role focuses on accurate financial reporting, cost analysis, and month-end close activities within a manufacturing environment.

Candidates should hold a professional designation (CMA, CGA, CPA or CA) and have at least five years post-qualification experience in manufacturing accounting. Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Professional designation (CMA/CGA/CPA/CA) is required.
• Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in manufacturing accounting.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing is an asset.
• Strong math skills and data analysis abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

Responsibilities

• Complete accurate and consistent accounting records.
• Adhere to Government and Corporate policies and procedures.
• Perform banking functions and bank reconciliations as required.
• Review capital expenditures to ensure proper account code distribution.
• Maintain monthly fixed assets addition schedule and all supporting documents.
• Maintain monthly tooling and analysis reconciliation schedules.
• Manage program-related Purchase Orders and cash disbursements.
• Update program proforma income statements as required.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to tooling inventory and fixed assets.
• Support engineering and program managers with requisitions.
• Prepare variance analyses actual versus budget and forecast.
• Collaborate with AR and AP to ensure invoices for tooling programs are timely.
• Prepare and maintain Excel spreadsheets for analyses.
• Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller with financial planning and audits.
• Perform other duties as required.
