Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Engineering preferred but not required.
• Purchasing/quoting/planning/ engineering experience preferred.
• Three or more years of manufacturing/tool shop experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude required; able to read prints.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to manage several projects at one time.
• Able to work independently on a project through its completion with minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, machining and tooling background and previous manufacturing background/environment.
• Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work within short time lines with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.
• Strong analytical mindset
• Strong written and oral communication

Responsibilities

• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, labor and process step expenses
• Communicate with other departments and suppliers to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other factors
• Help to source new vendors as quotes for new products come in
• Fill in our quoting vehicle, the “Estimator” for review
• Attach all documents to the opportunity quote or project in Epicor
• Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers, customers, and contractors on estimates
• Evaluate a product’s cost-effectiveness or profitability
• Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable
• Work with Sales teams to prepare estimate and bids for customers
• Updates cost estimate when changes occur within the initial product, including but not limited to supplier cost increases, labor increases, changes in production process, etc.
