Job summary

SCI Technology, a Sanmina Company, in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician.

You will maintain surface mount, wave soldering and other equipment, perform setup, repair, preventive maintenance, and document activities.

The role requires knowledge of Siemens and Fuji SMT machines, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems, and a collaborative, hardworking mindset; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Siemens and Fuji SMT machines and related equipment.
• Experience with wave soldering and selective wave soldering processes.
• Proactive maintenance and documentation of equipment performance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain surface mount, wave soldering, selective wave soldering equipment.
• Set-up, repair, and document equipment performance and uptime.
• Lift up to 100 lbs and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic problems.
• Work independently, resolve issues with minimal supervision.

Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician

4A (Monday-Thursday)

Job Purpose

Responsible for the maintenance and operation of surface mount, wave soldering, selective wave soldering and other manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include set-up, repair, operation, preventative maintenance and adjustment of Fuji and ASM SMT equipment as well as Wave and Selective Soldering Equipment. Monitors and maintains equipment to meet company standards. Will be responsible for quality assurance, uptime and completing documentation for equipment and area. Is able to work with little instruction and take constructive criticism. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Experience with tooling development as well as manual machinist work is a plus. Must be a team player and be willing to work overtime when needed.

Nature of Duties

• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Strong working knowledge of Siemens and Fuji SMT machines, Wave and Selective Soldering equipment or other related experience.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 100lbs.
• Has good troubleshooting and problem solving skills with electrical, mechanical and pneumatic problems.
• Required to be self-sufficient and resolve issues without assistance.
• Ability to interface professionally and effectively with peers, operators and managers.
• Must be a team player.

Education/Experience

• 2 year Technical Degree preferred but not required.
• 1-2 years Technician experience
