Job summary

Advanced Assembly, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician (2nd Shift) to support electronics manufacturing by maintaining and improving production test equipment, fixtures, and processes. You will partner with Manufacturing and Test Engineering to ensure reliable production and high-quality products.

Ideal candidates have experience with PCBAs, functional testing, and engineering support, with opportunities to mentor technicians and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in electronic manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW, DOE, FMEA, Gage R&R, Process Flow Diagrams, DFT.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, improve, and troubleshoot production test equipment, fixtures, and processes.
  • Program fixtures and calibration procedures; support engineering teams for reliability and quality.
  • Mentor manufacturing technicians and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop operating instructions and documentation for test and programming fixtures.

Advanced Assembly, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support our electronics manufacturing operation by maintaining and improving production test equipment, programming fixtures, calibration processes, and manufacturing systems. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Manufacturing and Test Engineering to ensure reliable production, exceptional product quality, and continuous process improvement.

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports manufacturing operations by maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting functional test and programming equipment, fixtures, and processes. This role partners with Manufacturing and Test Engineering to ensure reliable production, product quality, and continuous process improvement.

Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams, including internal and external engineering partners.
  • Evaluate and verify test fixture coverage to ensure manufacturing test requirements are met.
  • Perform test fixture validation, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and repair of programming equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on production test equipment.
  • Manage known‑good (“gold”) printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) used for production testing.
  • Maintain test software, program revisions, and implement approved updates.
  • Develop and maintain operating instructions and documentation for test and programming fixtures.
  • Mentor manufacturing technicians.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, root cause investigations, project implementation, and employee training.
  • Design, develop, test, source, and evaluate manufacturing tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment to improve quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Analyze manufacturing test and programming processes and methods for cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Develop and recommend innovative test and programming solutions that improve quality, manufacturability, and overall cost competitiveness.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned by primary supervisor.

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in electronic manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • LabVIEW
    • Design of Experiments (DOE)
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R)
    • Process Flow Diagrams
    • Design for Test (DFT)
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, and analysis skills.
  • Strong knowledge of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes, IPC workmanship standards, and ISO quality systems.

    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an indoor manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
