Anduril Industries seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to build and lead the manufacturing engineering team for a new Autonomous Airpower aircraft program in Costa Mesa, CA, with a later move to Long Beach. The role blends hands-on engineering work with strategic leadership, guiding production readiness, tooling, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or complex hardware production environments, with at least 3 years in a managerial or technical lead role.
• Demonstrated experience developing products from scratch and scaling to production on aircraft or complex aerospace programs.
• Proven cradle-to-grave ownership from design input to tooling definition and production support.
• Experience hiring, developing, and leading manufacturing engineering teams.
• Experience driving process improvements and production readiness in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong DFM/DFA instincts and ability to influence manufacturability decisions.
• Excellent project management skills and cross-functional leadership.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to stay hands-on as a working manager.
• Technical expertise in manufacturing systems (MES, ERP, PLM).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Build and lead the manufacturing engineering team for a new Autonomous Airpower aircraft program — hiring, structuring the team, setting goals, providing technical direction.
• Act as a working manager — stay close to engineering work, make technical decisions, own key deliverables in early program phase.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for production capabilities, incorporating new technologies and automation.
• Partner with chief engineers and design engineering through all development phases from concept to LRIP to full-rate production.
• Own documentation required to manufacture aircraft hardware at scale, including work instructions and MBOMs.
• Drive production readiness activities — tooling, process capability, MBOM maturity, rate-readiness.
• Lead selection, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase throughput.
• Manage budgets and forecast future manufacturing needs across personnel, equipment, tooling, and materials.
• Collaborate with program management, supply chain, operations, quality, and leadership.
• Serve as technical expert for manufacturing engineering issues on the program.
• Analyze production metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Interface with external customers communicating the manufacturing strategy and plans.
• Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and accountability within the manufacturing engineering organization.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
