Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY is seeking an Assoc Manager, Manufacturing Engineer to lead our Post-SMT processes and support team at the Jefferson Road Operations Center. This dual-technical leadership role guides through-hole assembly, depanelization, soldering, and automated equipment.

You will partner with operations, quality, and engineering to ensure PCBA lines meet quality and reliability, drive process improvements, document procedures, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Graduate degree with related experience; 10 years minimum if no degree.
• Experience with soldering processes and manufacturing equipment.
• Lean Six Sigma training or equivalent.
• Experience working across multiple departments and leading improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead Post-SMT support team and ensure effective daily operations.
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and sharing best practices.
• Establish staffing, training, and production system standards.
• Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions.
• Develop, implement, and optimize Post-SMT production processes, including tooling and automation.
• Provide programming support for depanelization and through-hole assembly equipment.
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to analyze feedback and drive improvements.
• Perform structured root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor defective materials and support MRB and change control.
• Support equipment maintenance programs and timely PMs.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement process improvements.
• Evaluate and deploy new equipment and technologies to enhance production.
