Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, IN invites students for a Manufacturing Engineering Internship for Summer 2026. You will gain exposure to developing and implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes aligned with product specs and quality standards.

You will assist in creating systems to improve quality and throughput, participate in design and testing of methods and equipment, and learn under experienced engineers. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required due to ITAR.

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will gain exposure and experience in the development and implementation of optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods, in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of manufacturing systems with the focus on continuous improvement related to quality and throughput capability of production equipment.
• Work is of a technical nature where decisions are made within general practices and procedures, where supervision is available.
• Assist in the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Study product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education Requirement: College undergraduate or graduate status with 1-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursuing an academic field of study related to Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other technological fields of study.

• Due to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Intern must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident.
