Rocket Lab Corporation invites ambitious engineering students for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern Summer 2027 at Wallops Island, VA. You will support developing processes and design/build equipment for receipt, integration, and launch of the Neutron launch vehicle.

You will work with the Neutron Vehicle Integration team, participate in hands-on tasks, and gain exposure to CAD/CAM, Python, and SQL within a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Manufacturing Engineering Intern Summer 2027

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern based at Rocket Lab’s site in Wallops Island, Virginia, you will have the opportunity to support the developing processes, as well as identifying and design build of necessary equipment for receipt and final integration and launch of the Neutron Launch Vehicle. You’ll work closely with the Neutron Vehicle Integration Engineer and other key team members who are responsible for the integration, test and launch of the Neutron launch vehicle.

As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees within the department to apply your knowledge and grow your skills both technically and professionally

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE

GPA of 3.5 or above

6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Basic coding proficiency (Python, SQL, or automation scripting)

Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) experience

Strong interest in identifying and driving process improvement opportunities

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS

Pay RangeMD: $25.00 USD Hourly

You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize relocation costs
