Job summary

Stryker Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Redmond, WA, to apply classroom knowledge in a fast-paced setting and support process improvements through Lean Six Sigma principles. You will work closely with a mentor to identify opportunities and help implement changes on current manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field and remaining enrolled.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (verified at time of hire).
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate.

Opportunities Available

As a Manufacturing Engineering intern at Stryker, you will:

  • The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will gain hands‑on experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working closely with an assigned mentor, the intern will support the identification, analysis, and implementation of improvements to current manufacturing processes.
  • The intern will work with a manufacturing engineering mentor to identify opportunities to reduce defects, rework, or process escapes through mistake‑proofing solutions.
  • This project will focus on evaluating current process risks and supporting the design or implementation of simple automation, sensing, or verification methods that prevent incorrect operations from occurring.
  • Collaborate with design and operations teams to bring products to market efficiently.
  • Projects may include fixture development, assembly line optimization, lean manufacturing implementation, ergonomics/safety improvements, and process validation.

Majors Targeted: Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial & Operations Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related majors

What You Need
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; must remain enrolled in a degree‑seeking program after the internship.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or above (verified at time of hire)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require employment‑based sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate and build relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
Compensation & Benefits

$20 min hourly wage – $35 max hourly wage

  • Sign‑on bonus
  • 11 paid holidays annually
  • Either paid corporate housing or a living stipend, dependent upon hiring location

Work Flexibility
  • Remote – Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location.
  • Field‑based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field‑based.
  • Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category.
  • Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co‑located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
