Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, invites you to join its Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op in New York. This onsite role focuses on improving safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery within a high-precision manufacturing facility.

The program runs January through August as a full-time co-op with mentorship and cross-functional teamwork, offering hands-on work in lean operations, CAD modeling, automation research, and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM field and actively enrolled through internship/co-op session.
  • Experience in CAD Modeling.
  • Experience in automation/robotics, 3D modeling of tooling and fixtures.

  • Assist with preparing quality related items and documentation to meet established standards.
  • Collaborate in compiling information on cell performance and productivity for analysis.
  • Research, review and test techniques for efficiency and planning.

The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op will work both individually as well as on cross-functional teams to complete a variety of projects focused on improving safety and quality, reducing cost, and increasing on-time delivery (OTD) in a high precision manufacturing facility. This may include implementing lean operations such as setting up product flow, KANBAN, and FIFO, CAD modeling, automation research and implementation, performing time observations, and data collection and analysis. Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester); it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity.

  • Collaborate in compiling information on cell performance and productivity so that manufacturing performance can be analyzed.
  • Research, review and test techniques for efficiency and planning

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Experience in CAD Modeling
  • Experience in automation/robotics, 3D modeling of tooling and fixtures
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Relocation eligibility

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
