Johnson & Johnson is seeking highly motivated Engineering Co-op students to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Milpitas, CA. You will contribute to process development, optimization, and sustainment of ophthalmic medical device manufacturing operations in a regulated environment.

The role offers hands-on experience across Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering tracks, with exposure to CAD, data analysis, automation, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university program and returning to school after co-op
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Ability to work full-time during the co-op assignment

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing process development, optimization, and validation activities.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with equipment qualification, process characterization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and update manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines and teams to improve manufacturability and reliability.
