You will work closely with production teams, providing direct technical support, mentoring welders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish weld parameters, fixtures, tooling, and work instructions.
  • Evaluate customer drawings and specifications for manufacturability.
  • Support quoting activities with labor estimates, weld process selection, and equipment recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable welding codes and customer requirements.
  • Serve as a technical mentor for welders and trainers to support skill development and craftsmanship.
Hands‑On Technical Support
  • Provide direct shop‑floor support to welders, supervisors, and production personnel.
  • Troubleshoot daily production issues related to safety, weld quality, dimensional stability, fixturing, productivity, scrap, and rework.
  • Perform weld trials and process validation activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through fixture design, weld sequencing, and workflow optimization.
  • Lead projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and labor efficiency.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
What You Bring
Required

  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a welding or fabrication environment
  • Demonstrated hands‑on welding knowledge and troubleshooting capability

  • Ability to build credibility with production teams through practical, shop‑floor knowledge
  • Strong communication and training skills, with the ability to coach and develop others
  • Ability to lead projects and influence cross‑functional teams
