Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing processes and equipment. This role reports to the Director of Manufacturing and focuses on optimizing operations, mentoring technical teams, and driving continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have Lean/TPS experience, a technical bachelor's degree, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools such as PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, Gauge R&R, statistical analysis, and A3.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the manufacturing team.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and TPS tools. Apply lean principles, quality systems, statistical tools, and procedures.
  • Teach and coach team members on Value Stream Mapping processes, time studies, Kaizen events, Standard Work, audits/Gemba Walks, PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, Job Element Sheets, root cause analysis using 5-Why, Cause & Effect Diagram, A3 tools, New Product Introduction (NPI) validation, creating test validation plans, Gauge Studies, and statistical analysis.

The Manufacturing Engineer is focused on the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes and equipment and reports to the Director of Manufacturing. What We Are Looking For
  • Experience with Toyota Production Systems, quality systems, and lean concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lead functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
  • Experience with quality tools such as PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, Gauge R&R, statistical analysis, and A3.
  • Certifications such as CQM, ISO 9000/TS-16949 Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
