Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Utilities Department at its Toledo facility. You will support safe, reliable operation of mill utility systems including power, steam, water, and compressed air, while improving asset performance and value realization across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and improving manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Experience with data-driven reliability improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing asset strategies for Utilities Department assets.
  • Lead efforts to improve asset performance and reliability with safety, environmental, quality, utilization, efficiency and cost goals.
  • Apply PBM® principles and the five dimensions to close gaps between current and possible performance.
  • Prioritize work using economic thinking and value-based decision making.
  • Share knowledge across operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering, and vendors to improve decisions.
  • Identify hazards in utility systems and mitigate human error in high-risk areas.
  • Coach operators on safe operation, basic care, and operating parameters.
  • Troubleshoot steam, power, water, and related utility issues and evaluate improvement ideas.
  • Develop or update operating procedures with shift supervision and leadership.
