Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Utilities Department at its Toledo, OR facility. This role will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of key mill utility systems that enable production across the site, including power generation and distribution, steam, water, compressed air, and related recovery and recausticizing assets. Our Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for monitoring asset performance, improving reliability, resolving short-term operating issues, and developing long-term strategies that improve equipment effectiveness and department results. Manufacturing Engineers will work closely with the department teams including Superintendents, Technical Assistants, and Operators.
The successful candidate should approach work with a business-owner mindset, excel at problem-solving, and be eager to collaborate with operations, maintenance, technical, and reliability partners to improve Utilities Department assets and support mill performance. This position is part of the Utilities Team, reporting to the Utilities Area Leader, and will work closely with operators, maintenance execution, technical engineering, environmental resources, and corporate support teams. Successful candidates will apply Principle Based Management (PBM®) to create long-term value through a shared vision, respectful challenge, knowledge sharing, clear roles and responsibilities, and contribution-motivated ownership of results.
Georgia-Pacific Toledo is a producer of brown paper used to make cardboard and is a leader in recycling in the Northwest. The Utilities Department plays a critical role in supporting safe and reliable mill operations by providing the energy, steam, water, compressed air, and support systems needed to keep production assets operating effectively.
The Toledo Mill is located within a 10-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean.
