Job summary

Wayne Fueling Systems in Austin, TX seeks a part-time Manufacturing Engineering Tech I to support development and routing of manufacturing instructions and assist on assembly lines. You will review processes for existing builds, assist in prototype development, and contribute to maintenance and repair of equipment, with a focus on continuous improvement.

The role offers hands-on training, interaction with Quality, Maintenance, Production and Safety teams, and opportunities to apply Lean and Six

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years related manufacturing experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to read Engineering drawings and other technical documentation.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, routing, and implementation of manufacturing instructions to assemble products
• Supporting assembly lines to maintain production output
• Reviews processes and procedures for existing and new builds including assembly processes, prototyping, repairing machinery, and trouble-shooting fixtures/tooling to identify and implements improvements
• Guide preventive maintenance and general repair on equipment or machinery
• Provides specialized training to production employees and technical direction to the production trainer
• Assists in prototype development by debugging, modifications, assembly, and testing
• Report out metrics and KPIs
• Participate in Lean initiatives and engage with Six Sigma tools for process improvements
• Interact with internal departments such as Quality, Maintenance, Production, Safety, etc.

Required Skills/knowledge

• Completion of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


• 1+ years related experience or training in manufacturing; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization


• Ability to read Engineering drawings and other technical documentation


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


• Able to be a team player


• Strong working knowledge of computers, equipment, and procedures.
