Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a skilled Manufacturing Engineer & Technician to support and enhance production operations. You will apply lean manufacturing, process improvement, and data-driven decision making to drive efficiency and quality.

This role collaborates with Engineering, Materials, and Operations to implement new processes, support launches, improve safety and ergonomics, and maintain production standards.

Qualifications

  • Lead and support new process trials while providing technical engineering support for existing production operations to ensure stable, efficient manufacturing performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain optimal manufacturing methods, process standards, tooling, and equipment for assigned products and operations.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve safety, ergonomics, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Materials and Operations teams to optimize material flow, workplace organization, and inventory placement through Lean principles.

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer & Technician to support and enhance manufacturing operations within our production facility. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and hands‑on manufacturing experience with expertise in process improvement, production standards, lean manufacturing, and workforce optimization. This individual will collaborate across Engineering, Materials, and Operations teams to implement process improvements, support new product launches, improve safety and ergonomics, and drive operational excellence through data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities


  • Lead and support new process trials while providing technical engineering support for existing production operations to ensure stable, efficient manufacturing performance.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain optimal manufacturing methods, process standards, tooling, and equipment for assigned products and operations.

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve safety, ergonomics, productivity, quality, and cost performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Collaborate with Materials and Operations teams to optimize material flow, workplace organization, and inventory placement through Lean principles.

  • Coordinate the implementation of new products, engineering changes, and process modifications to ensure effective production readiness.

  • Assess manpower requirements and workforce placement to maintain balanced production operations and meet manufacturing objectives.

  • Partner with Engineering and Materials teams to participate in manufacturing design reviews and support process development, prototype builds, validation activities, and production launches.

  • Analyze assembly and manufacturing operations using data and performance metrics to identify root causes, eliminate waste, and improve operational efficiency.

  • Develop, maintain, and update production standards and work measurements using predetermined time systems such as MCTM and MOST.

  • Implement and standardize best practices to improve quality, delivery, productivity, and overall manufacturing performance.

  • Support daily production goals by ensuring timely implementation of process improvements and corrective actions.

  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures.

  • Provide training and technical guidance to production personnel on manufacturing methods, processes, tooling, and standards.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, plant procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.


Qualifications


  • Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, production, industrial engineering, or process improvement activities in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, tooling, equipment, and production methodologies.

  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Six Sigma principles to improve operational performance.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Experience developing production methods, work standards, and labor analysis using predetermined time systems such as MCTM and MOST.

  • Understanding of workforce planning, manpower analysis, line balancing, and production flow optimization.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Experience supporting new product introductions, process launches, engineering changes, and prototype builds.

  • Knowledge of safety, ergonomics, and manufacturing best practices.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams, including Engineering, Materials, Operations, and Production.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing‑related systems and tools.

  • Ability to analyze production data and use metrics to drive decision‑making and process improvements.

  • Commitment to quality, safety, continuous learning, and operational excellence.


Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000
