Job summary

Parker Aerospace division seeks a Manufacturing Engineer 2 with a strong safety focus to support safe, efficient production of Parker products in a single facility. MANUFACTURING ENGINEER 2 (SAFETY FOCUSED)
Summary Of The Position

Under direct supervision, the Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer supports safe, efficient production of new and existing Parker products within a single facility by assisting with the design, implementation, and review of manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment. The role helps evaluate and improve manufacturing techniques, tests new systems and methods to increase efficiency and consistency and supports planning and optimizing assembly layouts to improve throughput while maintaining high standards for quality and cost. A core expectation is a strong, proactive safety focus—integrating risk identification, safe work practices, and process/equipment safeguards into day-to-day engineering support to protect employees, prevent incidents, and ensure compliant, reliable operations.

Functions And Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing Process Flow - Assists in the planning and design of manufacturing processes to improve the manufacture and assembly of new and existing products. Helps determine equipment and tooling needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product and quality specifications.
  • Process Improvement - Assists in developing and implementing process improvement projects that focus on manufacturing efficiency, material yield, safety, and cost.
  • Engineering Design Support - Provides input to more senior engineers regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Helps ensure basic processes and procedures comply with regulations. Learn to apply frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Remediation - Investigates and makes recommendations for corrective action to ensure product quality and resolve quality issues.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Educational requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering field with 0-2 years of experience
  • Knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering
  • Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving of basic to moderate scope and complexity
  • Effectively apply continuous improvement methods to quality and manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT)
  • Knowledge of data structures and database programming
  • Ability to work effectively with CAD/CAM systems or other computer aided manufacturing systems, in addition to standard business application software and/ or specialized data analysis tools
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively and draw valid conclusionsStrong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

  • Pay Range: $70,890 to $117,300 annually
