Job summary

Valley Craft Industries in Lake City, MN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive the development and production of metal storage and material-handling products. You will implement process improvements, validate designs, and support new product launches in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize safety, quality, delivery and cost, manage multiple projects, and document procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong ISO manufacturing regulations knowledge.
  • Experience designing and developing manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and process validation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, root cause analysis and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Lean manufacturing principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small to large scale projects to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for project planning and resourcing.
  • Perform problem-solving and root cause analysis to implement solutions.
  • Assess safety risks and improve ergonomics in production.
  • Establish run rates and balance workflow for smooth material flow.
  • Improve product quality with quality control and mistake-proofing.
  • Drive cost reduction through labor efficiency and material utilization.
  • Support new product launches.
  • Communicate professionally and take ownership of delivering high-quality results.
