Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead process development and optimization for high‑volume production in Redmond, WA. The role focuses on automation, CAD design, and performance analysis to deliver cost‑effective, quality manufacturing solutions.

You will collaborate with R&D, design and production teams to move new products from concept to production, while applying lean and Six Sigma techniques to drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years developing manufacturing and/or automation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage development and optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production.
  • Conduct Cpk and capabilities analysis to assess process performance and implement improvements.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations and troubleshoot issues.
  • Utilize CAD software for designing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Develop and update process documentation, work instructions, and flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and production to transition products to production.
  • Lead continuous improvement using lean, Six Sigma, and related methods.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide manufacturability feedback.

Export Control Requirement

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process development, mechanical engineering, Cpk/Capabilities analysis, 3D modeling, and automation processes. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will manage complex manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production methods, cost optimization, and product quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new manufacturing processes, improve existing ones, and support product development through detailed engineering analysis. This role requires a hands-on approach, and technical expertise.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production. Utilize and develop automation as a means to reduce human factors.
  • Conduct Cpk and capabilities analysis to assess process performance, production trends, and implement solutions to improve yield and throughput.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and improving manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Develop and update detailed process documentation, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to transition new products from concept to production.
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process optimization techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in product design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years developing manufacturing and/or automation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
  • Developed tools/applications/data processing utilizing AI.
  • Implemented industrial motion systems (robots, servo motors, sensor systems) to solve manufacturability challenges.
  • Familiar with code languages (python preferred).

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
