Great Dane is seeking a manufacturing engineer to lead capital projects and optimize processes across plant locations. You will collaborate with operations to plan, implement, and sustain improvements, applying CAD and controls knowledge to drive efficiency.

The role emphasizes cost reduction, quality, and safety initiatives while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 1–5 years of manufacturing exposure; travel is occasional.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Controls experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and automation.
• Industrial engineering skills including work measurement and labor reporting.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical/electro-mechanical systems.
• Understanding of building/maintenance contracts and liability issues.
• Asset justification and analytical/problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with compliance regulations and codes.
• Travel: Occasional (<15%).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance and repair services for plant locations.
• Support project planning, process improvement and asset care through plant visits.
• Provide manufacturing engineering information to customers.
• Manage capital expenditure program (budgeting, project planning and implementation).
• Develop cost reduction, quality and safety improvement projects.
• Perform payback analysis, obtain quotes and oversee project installation.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency through analysis and workflow planning.
• Develop manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate engineering changes.
• Research new equipment and processes for future implementation.
• Develop new tooling.
• Other duties as assigned.
