General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Pontiac Stamping to lead maintenance of press systems and drive world-class reliability. You will troubleshoot, analyze, design, and implement solutions that improve safety, quality, throughput, and uptime.
The role requires hands-on problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration with engineering, suppliers, and plant teams, and the ability to manage projects within schedule and budget constraints.

As a Press Manufacturing Engineer at Pontiac Stamping, you will play a critical role in advancing our maintenance systems to world-class standards through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, solution design, implementation, and optimization of press and automation systems that support stamping operations. In this role, you will contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions that improve safety, quality, throughput, and reliability. You will be responsible for maintaining press systems in optimal operating condition, developing maintenance plans that define technical resources and spare parts requirements, identifying process improvement opportunities, and supporting the effective use of equipment, tooling, materials, and personnel. This position requires sound technical judgment, hands‑on problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work across a broad range of mechanical and manufacturing systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, suppliers, plant teams, and controls engineers. In addition to leading technical initiatives, you may provide directions to engineers, group leaders, and skilled trades to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and effectively
