Job summary

Bruker in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive NPI and sustaining engineering for high-precision production. You’ll lead DFx, PFMEA, and PFMEA processes, create and maintain BOMs, write ECOs, and develop work instructions and routings while supporting cross-functional teams in a clean-room environment.

BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 3+ years of experience is required; US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or related field are required.
• Experience with NPI processes and leading DFx/DFMEA/PFMEA activities is essential.
• Experience creating and maintaining BOM structures and engineering change controls (ECOs).
• Experience in mechanical part and assembly design in 3D CAD and interpretation of GD&T.
• Ability to write and edit production work instructions and routings; strong documentation skills.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical assemblies; strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities from concept to production ramp and lifecycle management.
• Manage and improve DFx, DFMEA, PFMEA processes and outcomes.
• Create and maintain BOMs, routings, and manufacturing documentation; approve ECOs.
• Support design reviews with DFx feedback and lessons learned.
• Lead or participate in material reviews and supplier quality activities as needed.
• Provide hands-on support to sustain line performance and cost-reduction efforts.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time production and quality goals.
