Job summary

Amazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is seeking Manufacturing Engineers to scale up production of mechanical and thermal components across a global network. You will own PFMEAs, control plans, and process flows from startup through end-of-life, providing hands-on support for new product introductions and working with CMs/ODMs and vendors.

This role requires 2 years in high-volume manufacturing, a relevant engineering degree, and experience with server hardware.

Qualifications

• 2 years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or similar related field or equivalent experience.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience working in fan, heatsink, cable, sheetmetal, or coldplate manufacturing.
• Experience working in server liquid component or air conditioning system manufacturing.
• 2 years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or on high-tech hardware.
• 3 years of product development experience.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.

Job description

Amazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is looking for experienced professionals to help build the world's premier cloud computing platform. We are looking for Manufacturing Engineers who are capable of operating in a fast paced, ever changing, multi-platform international manufacturing and production environment. Our Component Quality team works closely with our ODMs, CMs, internal AWS hardware and software development teams, and with upstream component vendors to scale up manufacturing processes and ensure we can achieve our throughput and quality targets. The engineer owns design all of the required tools, test fixtures and equipment needed for a product to launch and scale up across multiple sites world wide. This role requires the engineer to be a technical contact and take on full ownership of the manufacturing launch and resolution of process issues. You will be the driver in getting production scaled across a global network. You will own PFMEAs, Control Plans and process flows from startup through the end of life of the product.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. About the team

The Hardware Engineering Mechanical/Thermal/Reliability (MTR) Engineering team owns the thermal and mechanical hardware designs of AWS servers and server racks and drives Operational Excellence end-to-end related to thermal and mechanical issues.

Basic Qualifications:

• 2 years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or similar related field or equivalent experience.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
