Job summary

Janicki Industries, located in Hamilton, WA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Lead to mentor the team, develop production processes, and support tooling and production improvements on-site at the Hamilton facility.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and 3–5 years of experience; familiarity with CATIA, NX Unigraphics, and SAP is desirable. Candidate must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance and work within ITAR/EAR constraints.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train less experienced team members.
  • Monitor employees and enforce procedures; provide training.
  • Oversee production processes and implement improvements.
  • Develop and manage new production processes for tooling.
  • Reissue production processes to implement new technology.
  • Plan and coordinate standard manufacturing processes on the Production Floor.
  • Record test procedures and data; recommend changes.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Ensure Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap compliance.
  • Develop Production Build Plan packages from specs and drawings.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment, materials, or parts.
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings and records.
  • Draft detailed drawings or sketches.
  • Track project schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Analyze workforce, equipment and space utilization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and operate under pressure.
  • Maintain good attendance as a job requirement.

Description

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Lead to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Engineers are responsible for all activities that are carried out to successfully complete an assigned project. Activities may include interaction with customer and development of SOW, design work, schedule management, manufacturing process development, and manufacturing support. Ideal candidates would be eager to learn and work through complex engineering challenges in a collaborative environment. The following essential job functions are performed:

  • Directly mentors and offers leadership and training to less experienced team members.
  • Monitors employees and enforced compliance with established procedures; provides related training for individuals and groups as necessary.
  • Maintains an overview of production processes and facilities and work with Management and Production personnel to develop and implement improvements for optimal results
  • Assists with creating and managing new production processes/procedures to better aid in the completion of composite tooling and/or resolve any problems that may have occurred during the production of the tool
  • As Research and Design develops new technology, the ME reissues and/or reconstructs production processes in order to implement new technology
  • Plans and coordinates standard manufacturing processes on the Production Floor
  • Aides with recording test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and recommendations for changes in product or test method
  • Works with Project Managers to identify and mitigate risk in the production process
  • Must be able to comply with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
  • Develops detailed Production Build Plan packages based upon customer process specifications and engineering drawings
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts
  • Files, retrieves and maintains engineering drawings, records, revisions and updates, as needed
  • Drafts detail drawings or sketches to convey technical information
  • Maintains awareness of the project schedule for each project as it moves through the value stream in order to meet key project deadlines
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, equipment and workspace requirements for maximum efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Behavior: The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering/Engineering Technology, Industrial Design Technology, or a similar field is required.
  • All positions required at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • 3-5 years of related experience is required.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products; some experience with Catia, NX Unigraphics, and SAP is desirable
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices and procedures
  • Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Salary range for this role is between$105,000 - $150,000/year, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
