Red Cat Holdings is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support our manufacturing and test engineering team in a hands-on lab environment.

You will work with experienced engineers to develop and debug test systems, write automation scripts, and learn to read datasheets for components while contributing to cross-functional projects on the factory floor.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Coursework or project experience with Python and/or Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and debugging test systems used to test and calibrate hardware assemblies, under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support scripting and automation tasks using Python and Bash.
  • Help with source control workflows using Git.

Position SummaryRed Cat is looking for a motivated Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support our manufacturing and test engineering team. This role offers hands-on exposure to how test systems are designed and built to support production — blending software, electronics, and mechanical fundamentals to help ensure our products are built right, every time.You'll work alongside experienced engineers who treat the manufacturing floor as their customer, helping build and improve the systems used to test and calibrate hardware assemblies before they go out the door.What You'll DoAssist in developing and debugging test systems used to test and calibrate hardware assemblies, under the guidance of senior engineersSupport scripting and automation tasks using Python and BashHelp with source control workflows using GitLearn how to read and interpret datasheets for electronic componentsParticipate in code reviews and contribute to team discussionsGain exposure to build systems and cross-compiling conceptsSupport ad hoc projects as priorities shift, learning to adapt across tasksWhat We're Looking ForCurrently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldCoursework or project experience with Python and/or LinuxStrong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new tools quicklyComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamSelf-motivated with a genuine interest in how hardware and software come together in manufacturingNice to Have (not required)Familiarity with C/C++, especially in embedded systemsExposure to reading schematics or basic electronicsExperience with tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or solderingInterest in mechanical design, CNC, or fixture fabricationAny personal or academic project involving hardware, robotics, or electronicsWorking ConditionsPrimarily based in a manufacturing/lab environmentMay involve standing, moving within the facility, and handling tools or equipment as part of hands-on learningSome tasks may involve lifting or carrying materials as part of testing and fixture workBackground CheckThis position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
