Global Cellulose Fibers is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern or Co-op to gain hands-on experience in a world-class manufacturing environment. You will work with experienced engineers, operators, and maintenance teams at facilities including New Bern, NC and other locations, focusing on process optimization, reliability, and safety.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with expected graduation in 2027 or later.
• Majors include Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Paper Science Engineering.
• Willingness to work in a heavy industrial environment.
• Familiarity with data analysis and Excel is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support daily pulp mill operations and troubleshoot issues.
• Analyze operational data to identify performance improvements.
• Assist with process monitoring and optimization.
• Collect samples and perform lab testing.
• Update procedures and mill drawings.
• Participate in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineers, operators, maintenance, and leadership.
• Lead or contribute to value-added projects focused on safety, productivity, or cost reduction.
• Learn and use digital tools to evaluate performance.
• Support a strong safety culture by following PPE and safe practices.
