Job summary

Sargent Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer MEII to join our Tucson, AZ team. You will model safe behavior, promote Lean Six Sigma-driven improvements, and support the ME team with technical and general assistance.

Responsibilities include documenting processes, evaluating non-conforming product, performing root cause analysis, designing tooling/fixtures and coordinating capital equipment purchases. A strong background in GD&T, CAD, and manufacturing processes is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience or a master's degree in engineering or related field, or an associate degree with 4 years in manufacturing engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and procedures, ensuring blueprint compliance.
  • Proficient in GD&T, schematics, test and inspection equipment and solid modeling; Lean Six Sigma knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Model safe behavior and promote continual improvement using Lean Six Sigma methods.
  • Interpret and maintain manufacturing process documentation (routers, RWPs, SOPs, Work Orders).
  • Evaluate non-conforming product and provide technical data for front-end activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions; design tooling and fixtures.

MEII With continual growth comes opportunity and Sargent has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer MEII to join our team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Model safe behavior at all times Promote a culture of Continual Improvement by utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive quality improvements, reduce manufacturing cost, minimize waste and improve efficiency Supports the ME team at all levels & operations with required technical and general support Interpret and maintain manufacturing process documentation (i.e. routers, RWPs, SOP's, Work Orders) Evaluate and disposition non-conforming product Provide technical data for front end business activities Evaluate supplier issues and provide technical guidance Perform Engineering analysis to determine Root Cause and implement Corrective Actions Identify new technologies to improve process capability, and increase process controls Review engineering designs and documentation for manufacturability Define manufacturing processes and maintain detailed manufacturing instructions for complex manufacturing product Design tooling & fixtures for manufacturing and validation of product Coordinate the acquisition and implementation of capital equipment/expenditures Implement process documentation and provide training for production personnel Actively participate in the engineering change process Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field plus 2 years as a manufacturing engineer OR a master's degree in engineering or related technical experience OR an associate degree in engineering or related technical field plus 4 years of manufacturing engineering related experience Read and interpret assembly drawings, procedures and ensure blueprint compliance Proficient knowledge and utilization of GD&T, schematics and relevant test and inspection equipment Proficient knowledge and utilization of solid modeling Proficient knowledge and utilization of Lean and Six Sigma Principles Demonstrated hands on abilities through employment or personal projects Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of experience in mechanical/hydraulic systems Experience in a Manufacturing Aerospace, Defense or other regulated industry Demonstrated and documented cost savings projects - annual savings 50k Experience in the implementation/utilization of Lean and Six Sigma Principles Lean/six sigma (green) belt certification
