Job summary

Kato Cable in Mankato, Minnesota, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to lead process improvements and automation across our production operations. You will work closely with production teams to turn data and engineering expertise into sustainable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience in equipment troubleshooting, process optimization, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain proficiency in at least two of three designated production areas and provide advanced engineering support.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and minimize variation.
• Drive automation initiatives by identifying opportunities and supporting implementation.
• Lead capital equipment acquisition, including specification development, vendor evaluation, etc.
• Lead complex customer-driven manufacturing projects as the primary engineering resource.
• Manage ECOs, DRFs, and PIFs with proper approvals and documentation.
• Provide technical training and guidance to engineers, technicians, and production employees.
