Who We Are Looking For

Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II who can take meaningful ownership of manufacturing processes, equipment, and production improvements as we scale critical metals production. In this role, you will work directly on the systems that move our technology from development into reliable, repeatable manufacturing. You will be expected to identify problems, develop practical engineering solutions, and drive improvements that increase throughput, quality, reliability, safety, and manufacturability. This role is ideal for an engineer who has already built a strong foundation in manufacturing and is ready to take on more complex technical problems, greater ownership of production systems, and a larger role in shaping how Phoenix Tailings scales its manufacturing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and improve manufacturing processes used to produce critical metals and materials, driving measurable gains in throughput, reliability, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, equipment modifications, and production solutions that improve manufacturability, process control, and repeatability.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for complex manufacturing and equipment issues, implementing corrective actions that eliminate recurring failures.
  • Analyze production and equipment performance data to identify bottlenecks, process variation, capacity limitations, and opportunities for sustained operational improvement.
  • Translate new process technologies into robust manufacturing methods, operating parameters, and documentation that support increasing production volumes.
  • Lead portions of equipment specification, installation, commissioning, qualification, and production ramp-up for new or upgraded manufacturing systems.
  • Plan and execute engineering trials and process validation efforts to prove new manufacturing methods, equipment changes, and process improvements before full-scale implementation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production engineering, equipment engineering, or a related industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience independently troubleshooting manufacturing processes or equipment, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Experience designing or improving tooling, fixtures, mechanical systems, manufacturing equipment, or production processes in a hands-on environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, with experience using CAD and creating or modifying technical documentation.
  • Experience using production data, engineering trials, process validation, or structured problem-solving methods to improve manufacturing performance and scale processes.
  • Abie to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to wear a respirator for extended periods of time
We offer a competitive compensation package that is based on expertise. We also offer the following benefits:
  • Healthcare: 100% Medical, dental, and vision coverage for employee
