Job summary

PCB Piezotronics, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer I in Depew, NY to launch new product designs into manufacturing and drive process improvements.

The role requires applying education and internship experience to develop work instructions, test protocols and documentation aligned with ISO 9001. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering, supply chain, operations, sales and quality, designing tools, performing failure analyses, and supporting manufacturing processes for ceramics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ceramic Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Internship, Co-Op or equivalent industry project experience.

Responsibilities

• Interprets mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols.
• Conducts prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
• Works with engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in launching new products and supporting existing products.
• Develops basic tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications and process documentation.
• Provides documentation on assembly methods and test procedures.
• Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
• May travel up to 5% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend meetings or conferences.

Primary Objective:

Follow all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to ISO 9001.

The Manufacturing Engineer I is responsible forapplyingtheir education, experience and expertise in the launch of new product designs into manufacturing, to make process improvements and to solve manufacturing problems.

Major Areas of Accountability

Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

• Interprets mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols.
• Conducts prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
• Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support of existing products.
• Develops and designs basic tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation.
• Provides documentation on assembly methods and test procedures.
• Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
• Provides technical assistance in matters of products, materials, equipment and processes.
• May travel up to 5% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences.
• Perform other related duties as required.
