Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM required.

  • Proficiency with CAD tools (CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools is preferred.
  • Experience with MRPs/ERP systems (e.g., PRISM/SAP) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with shop floor management tools and Windchill/PDM is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes across the program lifecycle.
  • Provide engineering and manufacturing support to enable on-time, low-cost hardware delivery with high reliability.
  • Collaborate with the value stream team to reduce cycle time and cost while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Support production readiness, including design interfaces and change requests, and NRE activities.
  • Coach junior engineers and capture lessons learned for future opportunities.

What You Will Do

Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They provide engineering and manufacturing support expertise to enable on-time, lowest cost hardware delivery with performance and reliability that exceed customer expectations. They execute across all phases of a program including proposal capture, process development, transition to production, and production support.

Manufacturing Engineers design, control, and improve the manufacturing process and system design through a collaborative effort with the value stream team. You would apply your skills to implement improvements that reduce cycle time and cost and improve productivity, while maintaining a high level of safety in the manufacturing environment and quality within the product.

What You Will Learn

Manufacturing Engineer responsible for production floor support to operations, Continuous Improvement efforts, Defect Prevention Team (DPT) support, Manufacturing Data Package (MDP) readiness, Design interface and/or Change Requests (CR), and Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE)

Capturing lessons learned on current Production programs (ie Patriot, TPY, etc) and incorporating for future opportunity capture

Training/Coaching junior engineers in the value stream

Manufacturing and/or producibility reviews of new designs and other Concurrent engineering requests and/or tasks

Investigating and driving resolution (including root cause and corrective action support) to production problems, including interfacing with suppliers/supplier quality and other value streams

Ability to work cross functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, test, and design.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum 0-2 years of prior relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools

Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing/Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP/ERP) tools and systems (ie PRISM/SAP)

Demonstrated proficiency with Manufacturing Shop Floor Management tools and systems (ie cMES)

Demonstrated proficiency with Product Data Management tools and systems (ie Windchill/PDM)

Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
