Job summary

Multimatic Inc. in Butler, Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Hot Form Press operations.

The role focuses on feasibility studies, equipment specs, and launching tooling to production, while supporting ongoing production through program cycles. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering (or a technical degree with relevant experience) and at least 2 years in high-volume steel manufacturing, with exposure to hot forming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
• Technical degree with experience; very hands-on candidate with 2+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience in high-volume steel processing/manufacturing a plus.
• Previous experience in hot stamping or Hot Forming.
• Ability to solve problems through logic and removing road blocks.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks CAD system is a plus.
• Basic knowledge in material transfer/metallurgy.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility study, estimate, quote, evaluate, specify and purchase capital equipment and tooling for new programs or modifications to existing programs to budget.
• Interact with vendors to provide equipment and tooling to hot form standards.
• Launch equipment and tooling to production and support ongoing production.
• Develop timelines and maintain follow-up.
• Troubleshoot via root cause analysis and provide technical support for daily operations.
• Maintain process documentation and assist with quality documentation.
