Job summary

Recruiters' Network Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to plan and design production processes at a plant site near the Atlanta metro area.

The role requires hands-on design and analysis, with experience in 3D modeling, Lean methods, and robotics/PLC automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Will consider less than a bachelor degree with the relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience is needed.
  • Ability to use Solid Works and Microsoft Office effectively.
  • Must have tooling experience.
  • Some project management experience is required.
  • Automation experience is needed to include robotics and PLCs.
  • Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Formal industry experience - flexible as to industry.
  • Needed is a good mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the USA without sponsorship.

  • Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures and recommend design or process changes.
  • Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
  • Perform FMEA on new and existing products.
  • Review designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve productivity.
  • Design of experiments, lean manufacturing, and related methods.
  • Create work instructions and spare parts inventories.
  • Implement automation, robotics, vision systems, and machine controls.

Job description

Established company with a very large market share in what they manufacture and that has a good working culture has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer at a plant site in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area. Much investment in the purchase of new capital equipment has taken place. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this position the selected candidate will plan and design manufacturing processes in an industrial plant; maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization; will also determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification by performing the following duties. Provided are major company benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with 100% match to 5%. Normally working hours are 8-5, but could get up 45-50 hour hours in a week.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to design production tooling, utilizing 2D & 3D software i.e. SolidWorks.
  • Implement productivity improvements associated with current production lines.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods. i.e. Lean Tools
  • Design & implement production process for new products and design changes to our existing products.
  • Perform FMEA’s on new and existing products involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and optimized processing.
  • Participate in cross functional teams to ensure optimal productivity methods.
  • Exercises in design of experiments, lean manufacturing, ROIA, etc.
  • Design review meeting for new and existing products.
  • Create work instructions, statement of work, spare parts inventories, critical parts inventories, etc.
  • Implementation of automation, robotic, vision systems, controls integration, end of arm tooling, fixturing, gauging, machine design, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Will consider less than a bachelor degree with the relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience is needed.
  • Ability to use the following effectively: 3D modeling software (specifically Solid Works) and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have tooling experience
  • Some project management experience is required
  • Automation experience is needed to include robotics and PLCs.
  • Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment
