Job summary

Quantum Fuel Systems LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for composite components used in Quantum's fuel storage systems. This hands-on role spends about 80% on the production floor collaborating with operators and supervisors to drive improvements.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of manufacturing engineering experience, with plastics manufacturing experience strongly preferred, and will work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering in production assembly/testing.
• Proficiency with Excel and data analysis.
• Experience implementing Lean manufacturing and CI initiatives.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to train and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and improve production tooling and testing equipment.
• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes using Lean principles.
• Create and maintain routings and VIS instructions to ensure conformance.
• Support disposition of nonconforming materials and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with R&D and Quality to validate new processes.
• Train operators and supervisors on new products and changes.
• Analyze performance to improve quality, productivity, throughput, cost, and delivery.
• Develop PFMEAs and implement risk-reduction actions.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities to meet requirements.
• Support CI initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
