Job summary

Fuyao Glass America Inc. in Moraine, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the Coating Connection Department. You will improve pretreatment product quality, reduce scrap, and help scale new automotive glass production.

You will collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams, implement Lean practices, and support equipment installation and process validation to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience in lean manufacturing methods and production optimization.
• Knowledge of coating processes and preassembly is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop, implement, and optimize production workflows and layouts.
• Support new equipment installations and process validation.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor KPIs such as cycle time, yield, and downtime.
• Lead Lean initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma) and sustain gains.

Job Summary

Responsible for improving pretreatment product quality, reducing the scrap rate in the pretreatment production process, enhancing output;

Representative Duties

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop, implement, and optimize production workflows, layouts, and standard work.
• Support new equipment installation and lead process validation.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, yield, and downtime.
• Support the launch of new automotive glass products and ensure smooth transition into mass production.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Physical Condition

The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed work boots. Visual acuity including, but not limited to:
a. NEAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded.
b. FAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions.
c. DEPTH PERCEPTION - Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.
d. COLOR VISION - Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
e. FIELD OF VISION - Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Other Requirements

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS - Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software.
