Actalent in Streator, IL seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Machining to design, optimize, and improve CNC machining processes, tooling, and capital equipment to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals. You will collaborate with design engineering, shop personnel, and installers to drive process improvements in a hands-on environment.

The role covers process documentation, CNC programming on front-end machining, Lean manufacturing applications, and ROI analyses for equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC programming and front-end machining operations such as brake press and saw.
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, or related field is required.

Responsabilités

• Determine equipment, tooling, and process design to manufacture products economically while maintaining quality.
• Develop, maintain, and provide documentation, work instructions, and process specifications.
• Deliver training and communicate process changes to supervisors and shop personnel.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve product designs for cost and manufacturability.
• Lead process improvement projects that optimize machining and related operations.
• Evaluate and recommend capital equipment with ROI analyses.
• Process Engineering Change Notices and Requests promptly.
• Analyze current and proposed processes to improve safety and efficiency.
• Work on front-end CNC machining processes including programming, brake press, and saw operations.
• Partner with purchasing and installation teams when introducing new equipment.
• Use AutoCAD and standard engineering software to support documentation and design activities.
• Engage with installers and operators on the shop floor to troubleshoot and refine processes.
• Contribute to Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
