Manufacturing Engineer - Automation Specialist

Open position: Manufacturing Engineer - Automation Specialist

Yetter Manufacturing Company, located in Macomb, IL, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on automation to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation systems to improve the efficiency and productivity of our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation technologies, including robotics, PLC programming, and machine vision systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and implement automation systems to improve manufacturing processes, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
  2. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring project goals are met on time and within budget.
  3. Conduct process improvement studies to identify opportunities for automation and cost reduction.
  4. Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics, process flow diagrams, and work instructions.
  5. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source and evaluate new automation technologies and systems.
  6. Train manufacturing personnel on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
  7. Troubleshoot automation systems and develop solutions to resolve issues and optimize performance.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements for automation systems.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, or similar experience, with a focus on automation.
  3. Strong technical knowledge of automation technologies, including robotics, PLC programming, and machine vision systems.
  4. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing automation projects from conception to completion.
  5. Experience with CAD software (CREO a plus) and automation simulation tools.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  8. Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for automation systems.
