Job summary

Bosch Group in the United States is hiring a Line Planner to own the daily technical performance of a production line. You will monitor line status, coordinate issue resolution, and drive rapid recovery to standard operating conditions across Operations, Maintenance, and Quality.

You will identify recurring issues, partner with the Process Group for improvements, and ensure adherence to engineering standards while supporting launch activities and production readiness.

Job Description

The Line Planner is responsible for the daily technical performance of the assigned production line. This role serves as the primary engineering partner to Operations, ensuring equipment, processes, and cross-functional resources work together to maintain safe, stable, and efficient production.

The Line Planner provides real-time visibility into line performance, coordinates issue resolution, leads structured escalation of production risks, and drives rapid recovery to standard operating conditions. While focused on daily execution, the Line Planner also identifies recurring issues and partners with the Process Group to implement long-term improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Daily Production Performance
  • Own the daily technical performance of assigned production lines.
  • Monitor machine status, production flow, and key performance metrics.
  • Identify production risks and proactively communicate impacts to Operations.
Issue Management & Escalation
  • Lead structured escalation of safety, quality, delivery, and equipment issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and the Process Group.
  • Ensure production issues are documented and communicated effectively.
Production Recovery
  • Drive rapid problem solving to restore production to standard conditions.
  • Verify that corrective actions achieve expected performance.
  • Escalate recurring or systemic issues for long-term investigation.
Standardization
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and engineering standards.
  • Support adherence to standardized work across the production line.
  • Identify opportunities to improve standard work based on daily observations.
Performance & Capacity Support
  • Monitor production performance trends and identify emerging risks.
  • Support production planning through cycle time, capacity, and equipment performance analysis.
  • Assist with launch activities and production readiness.

The Line Planner is the engineering owner of daily production performance, ensuring manufacturing operates safely, efficiently, and consistently by coordinating rapid problem resolution, maintaining production standards, and enabling Operations to achieve stable performance every day.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Experience
  • 3–7 years of manufacturing engineering or production engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting automated high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex production data
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, extreme willingness to share know-how.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and operational excellence
Technical Skills
  • Root cause analysis (8D, A3, 5 Why, Fishbone)
  • Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Statistical process understanding
  • TRC & MRC
  • Manufacturing KPIs (OEE, FPY, Scrap, Tech/Org Downtime, Cycle Time)
  • Microsoft Excel and data analysis
  • MES, ERP, or production monitoring systems preferred
  • Databricks & Query language experience preferred
