Job Description:

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Associate to support the Machining Operations Center (MOC) located in Orlando, FL. This facility specializes in producing ultra-precision machined components, crucial for infrared and electro-optical targeting systems used in defense applications.

Responsibilities may include:
  1. Creating work instructions: Detailing the specific equipment, methods, special processes, tools, and fixturing needed to manufacture complex components.
  2. Designing special tools and fixtures: Supporting manufacturing needs by designing specialized tools and fixtures.
  3. Providing manufacturing floor support: Resolving technical and manufacturing issues that arise on the production floor.
  4. Performing Root Cause analysis and implementing Corrective Action: Addressing quality-related issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  5. Investigating, proposing, and implementing technology: Identifying and implementing technology to improve quality and reduce costs.
  6. Utilizing CAM software for CNC programming: Programming CNC machines for efficient and precise manufacturing processes.
  7. Performing other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of CAD software such as Siemens NX, CREO, Pro Engineer, or Solidworks.
  • Experience and/or interest in CNC machines, mills, or lathes acquired through internships or University work.
  • US citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with CNC machines.
  • Experience with production manufacturing.
  • Lean Six Sigma knowledge.
  • G-code proficiency.
  • Root Cause Analysis experience.
  • Interest in metal machining, tooling, and precision component manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Security Clearance:

This position requires a government security clearance, and candidates must be US citizens to be considered.

Work Schedule:

4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
