Company is seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support Flight test in Tukwila, WA. The Flight test Manufacturing Engineer is an assembly and installation engineer within the company that supports installation planning by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing), interface with procurement (including tracking), and support during the build and installation.
The primary focus of this position is to lead, manage and support flight test design and planning efforts located in Tukwila, WA. These efforts represent a wide variety of development airplane programs primarily in support of the Company.
Manufacturing Engineers own the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration and process requirements. They perform Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develop an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to ensure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
Looking for experience specifically with authoring work instructions.
Minimum 3 years of experience and up, preferably recently in manufacturing engineering, assembly and installation focus.
Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred but not required accreditation standard.
