Job summary

Varstaff Staffing seeks an Engineer - Manufacturing Tooling to design and deliver tooling for the New Glenn production at Cape Canaveral, FL. You will manage tooling projects from concept through commissioning, create CAD models, and ensure drawings meet ASME Y14.5 standards.

The role requires hands-on tooling design, fabrication and procurement experience, plus CAD skills in Creo Parametric and Windchill. US citizenship or valid work status is required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in tooling design, fabrication and procurement.
• CAD experience including Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• GD&T and basic hand calculations.
• 3+ years of direct manufacturing experience.
• U.S. citizen, green card holder, refugee or asylee.

Varstaff is searching for an Engineer - Manufacturing Tooling (2243) to support a private rocket program (New Glenn production) at Rocket Park in Cape Canaveral, FL.

About the Role

You will design and deliver the tooling that builds and moves launch vehicle hardware, managing tooling projects from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design simple tooling for the New Glenn program: assembly fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers and custom machinery.
• Create CAD models and drawings per ASME Y14.5.
• Manage tooling projects end to end: concept, vendor selection, procurement, fabrication, inspection, installation, proof testing and commissioning.
• Perform root cause analysis on tooling and manufacturing issues.

Required Qualifications

• BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in tooling design, fabrication and procurement.
• CAD experience, including Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• GD&T and basic hand calculations.
• 3+ years of direct manufacturing experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, green card holder, refugee or asylee.

Desired Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or aerospace engineering.
• Design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA) and rate production experience.
• Tolerance stack-up analysis.
• CNC, welding, sheet metal and rigging knowledge.
• FEA experience with ANSYS.
