Job summary

NE-XT Technologies is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness for new product introductions.

You will collaborate with quality, design, and shop floor teams to implement tooling, programming, GD&T, and lean initiatives, while mentoring operators and driving continuous improvement to meet schedule and quality goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining and process engineering.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with CNC machine programming, setup and operation.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software including verification software Vericut.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement efficient CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, ensuring compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products, offering DFM input during the design phase.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Evaluate and select proper CNC equipment, tooling, and technologies for NPI.
  • Establish and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and standard operating procedures.
  • Train and mentor machine operators and other staff on CNC processes, best practices, and quality standards.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all manufacturing processes.

Job description

NPI Manufacturing Engineer Responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness for new product introductions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including quality engineers, quality assurance, setup personnel and machinists to support production goals, product quality and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, ensuring compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyze manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products, offering DFM (Design for Manufacturability) input during the design phase.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for manufacturing issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software Examples of our commonly used packages (SolidWorks CAD, Esprit CAM, Siemens NX CAD/CAM) including verification software Vericut.
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining (e.g., 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, and multi axis mill-turn lathes).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/specifications/standards in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASNI Y14.5) and blueprint reading.
  • Extensive knowledge and use of common metrology & measurement systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
