Job summary

MPI, a reputable mid-sized manufacturing company, seeks a qualified engineer to lead process improvements across quality, cost and throughput. You will support new product launches, tooling, process development, validation, and ramp-up while analyzing quotes and customer designs for DFMA considerations.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in machining environments, strong problem-solving and project management, plus CAD/SolidWorks and Plex ERP familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or 4 years' experience.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in a machining setting.
• Knowledge of process engineering and continuous improvement.
• Experience with quoting, cost analysis, and technical evaluations.
• Proficient in reading engineering drawings, GD&T, and material specs.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvements and implement corrective actions for quality, cost, and throughput.
• Support new product launches: tooling, process development, validation (PPAP/APQP), and ramp-up.
• Receive customer designs, perform DFMA and quoting.
• Help lean out established processes and supporting engineering documentation (BOMs, SOPs, Work Instructions).
• Conduct feasibility studies, support quoting, and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with production, design, quality, and sales to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Develop work instructions, process controls, and train production personnel.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or 4 years of experience
• 5+ years manufacturing experience; in a machining setting
