Job summary

Saab Aeronautics Indiana LLC in Indiana is seeking an engineer to contribute to production-system development, Lean-based assembly lines, and cross-functional collaboration. You will plan processes, optimize layouts, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with Saab values and supporting extended schedules as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (or an associate degree with more experience), strong problem-solving and communication skills, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with 2 years of related experience, or Associate degree with 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated continuous-improvement mindset and proactive approach.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team across an operation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of production systems and working methods to reduce production costs without compromising function or quality.
  • Develop new technical solutions and efficient production systems and assembly lines based on Lean principles.
  • Coordinate producibility reviews.
  • Execute process planning for current and new products.
  • Develop production flows and layouts.
  • Drive continuous improvement for efficient production.
  • Align with Saab values and contribute to a people-first culture.
  • Acknowledge potential for extended or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Perform other project tasks as assigned.

Compensation

$80,900-$101,100

Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline and 2 years of related experience, or Associate Degree in Engineering or related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Driven self‑starter with a continuous‑improvement mindset and proactive approach
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills

  • Ability to effectively collaborate across functional areas within an operation

  • Must be able to travel internationally
